Add a high-tech effect to your event: Laser show hire

Lasers add such an extra dimension to an event, whether high-tech, old-school or even romantic, that I’m surprised all of my clients aren’t hiring a laser show for their events.

They can be used for anything from small, intimate displays to huge, stage-filling backdrops for major events; but I think people don’t always understand what a laser show offers compared with the more common light show. Or they may be worried that lasers are dangerous.

Well I’m going to put the record straight and tell you how much bang you can get for your buck with laser shows.

What Do I Get With A Laser Show?

Laser shows are best used at night for optimum performance, but they are very versatile and can be adapted for any event.

You’ve seen them in discos throwing beams across the dancefloor to add wow factor for a great atmosphere. Lasers can also be mixed with mist to give a solid effect to the beams, and coordinated with music, fireworks or other effects for a full son et lumiere show.

I Use Two Separate Laser Shows To Cover Most Of The Requests I Get

● The blue/green show is my smallest set. The blue and green are two separate lasers, fully controlled from a lighting desk to produce a great show, mainly at parties and proms.

● My most impressive and biggest show is the full colour, which can provide a great backdrop for bands, wedding parties or big outdoor events.

Put Your Personal Stamp On Your Event

More and more people now opt to have names and messages projected onto a wall in an alternative take on the more traditional banner. Names of the happy couple go down really well at weddings and I can even scroll text above the top table with lists of messages of congratulation.

Are Lasers Dangerous?

Any good entertainment provider will know their health and safety around lasers. During the event, they won’t “scan” the crowd with a single powerful dot and lasers will only be used above head height and positioned out the way of people.

Operating lasers is strictly regulated under the Control of Artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations 2010; you should always make that your entertainer is aware of their responsibilities under the law.

If you have any doubts, you should ask to see the following proof:

● Copy of the risk assessment,
● Proof of training and use of compliant equipment,
● Electrical portable appliance testing certificates,
● Public liability insurance policy.

Are Laser Shows Expensive?

Typical costs for adding to a package can vary from £120 up to £600 depending on the laser package you want. There are so many different options, including image projection, dancefloor effects, show or live demo that you’re only really limited by your imagination.
